The struggling economy has slowed down shoppers. But this has not prevented the stores from enticing buyers. Their antics include ridiculous sales, free stuff and food tasting. Last Sunday, I went grocery shopping and Bong tagged along. The store was bustling with people. I tell Bong not to wander around and get lost. I tell him to stay close to me or people will think that he's only there for the food tasting. In 2 minutes, I lost him, so I went ahead and finished my shopping. Amid the crowd of busy shoppers, I spotted him. Like a child left alone in a candy store, he was happily munching on some food unmindful of the activity around him. That is my Bong... no big wishes, just a big heart.
My wish? They are like lyrics of this Christmas song by Amy Grant/Kelly Clarkson...
My Grown Up Christmas List
Do you remember me, I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies
Well, I'm all grown up now and still need help somehow
I'm not a child but my heart still can dream
So here's my lifelong wish, my grown up Christmas list
Not for myself but for a world in need
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list
As children we believed the grandest sight to see
Was something lovely wrapped beneath our tree
Well heaven surely knows that packages and bows
Can never heal a hurting human soul
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up Christmas list

at least you guys have big sales there, tita. our sales here are still a bit pricey. the malls are surprisingly empty- even now 1 week before xmas! we usually do our xmas shopping in the US on good friday but we couldn't even do that cuz of the low exchange rate :-( hopefully, next year will be better.
I am still making my wish list, before the 24th.
